The Story
Our house borders the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreational area. In addition to numerous species of squirrels and an ever-changing parade of migrating birds, it's not unusual to see white-tail deer, turkeys and the occasional coyote on their journey through our back yard. On a balmy summer evening, I was watching barn swallows swoop over cattails under a harvest moonrise in the marsh. The barn swallow is Ohio's only native split-tail bird.
This evening featured two barn swallows in pursuit of a dragonfly.
This sculpture is dedicated to my younger daughter, Kim, and her family.
It shows the delicate balance of nature in life, our destiny is not always ours to control.
